A monument at the entrance to Wu-she marks the place where that revolt began. Some of the sons and daughters of those rebels still live in Chun-yang. The village reeks of poverty and desperation. Alcoholism is prevalent, and daughters are often sold into prostitution by their impoverished families. The miracle of Taiwan’s development has largely passed these people by.

I read this after coming back from Taiwan, summer 2009 with my church. It’s a post to remind myself of those “passed by” and “unreached” in Taiwan… < 0.500% of the working class of Taiwan are reached with the gospel. Pray pray pray…
